The school shows remarkable performance in the field of co-curricular activities during the time of learned teachers like Bimal Chowdhury and Prasun Kanti Deb. Students were able to achieve distinction marks by their active performance is district level. The tradition is still being followed uptil now introducing NCC and Scout and Guides in the school.
In this school NCC has been started in 1962 at the time of China war by Purnendu Kumar Bhattacharjee, among 100 B.D. Cadets (Boys Division). At that time Susanta Bhattacharjee, English Lecturer of G.C. College was the commander of the NCC troop in silchar unit. P.K. Bhatt. Was NCC –‘C’-certificate holder of the opening periods. The NCC troop of the school attended many Annual Training camps like Kokila Mukh (Jorhat) Nowgaon, Barpathar (social service camp), Sonapur, Guwahati etc, under P.K. Bhatt. During his periods, Bhatt was promoted to 3rd officer, 2nd officer, 1st officer and for last two years he becomes Chief Officer in that unit.
In the year 1977, he handed over the NCC charge to Mr. Gokul Chandra Dutta, under 3rd Assam Bn NCC silchar unit. When Mr. Bhatt became the principal of the school. Mr. Dutta completed the NCC officer’s training course in Kamptee, Nagpur. For the long period of time till today he has been maintained as the NCC officer of the school. The troop attended many camps like Guwahati, Shillong, Umrui (Meghalaya), Sonapur, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Nowgaon and many important places of old cachar district. Many cadets under Mr. Dutta, who are now past pupils got several Govt. services like in Army, Police, Civil Defense etc.
The Annual Training camps are of twelve days duration. The aim of these camps is to impart collective training to the cadets to develop in them the qualities of head and heart, rate living, discipline and character- building.
